Samuel Gawith Cannon Plug 煙斗菸草 8oz

The plug cut means it takes a bit more prep than loose tobacco, but once it's rubbed out the rich Virginia sweetness really shines through. The pressed cake burns cool and even, with deep notes of hay and bread that last a full bowl. This is a step up from ready-rubbed blends I've tried before.

The flue-cured Virginias come through with a rich, natural sweetness that holds up even in a full pipe, and the plug format means I can shave off exactly what I need without it drying out. Cured a couple of slices for a few days and the flavor only got deeper.

The pressing process really locks in that rich Virginia sweetness, and it burns slow and cool in my pipe. I wish it came in a slightly larger tin for the price, but the flavor is hard to beat for a quality flake.
