Do Cigars Come With Cutters? West Tampa Dark Time Explained

Category: How-to Guides
Most cigar boxes don't include a cutter, but some limited editions do. Here's how the West Tampa Dark Time Toro box changes the answer and what to check before buying.
Quick answer
No, most cigars do not come with a cutter—but some limited-edition boxes do. The West Tampa Dark Time Toro 6x54 is one example: its box of 10 includes a custom cutter, so you can skip buying one separately for that purchase.
Why most cigar boxes skip the cutter
A cutter is a personal tool, and many smokers already own one they like. Including a cutter in every box would raise the price for everyone, so most brands leave it out and let you choose your own. That's why the default answer to 'do cigars come with a cutter' is no—it's not a standard part of the packaging.
When a box does include a cutter
Limited-edition releases sometimes add extras to justify the higher price or mark the occasion. The West Tampa Dark Time is a one-time, limited-edition release, and its black piano-finish box of 10 includes a custom cutter. That makes it a cigar box with cutter included—but treat it as the exception, not the rule.
Myths vs. facts: cutter inclusion
- All cigar boxes include a cutter: Myth. Most boxes do not include a cutter; it's an optional extra that some limited editions add. Check the product description for 'cutter included' before assuming.
- The West Tampa Dark Time Toro box includes a cutter: Fact. This limited-edition box of 10 explicitly includes a custom cutter.
- You should buy a cutter with every cigar order: Not necessarily. If you already own a cutter you like, you don't need another. If you're buying the Dark Time Toro, the included cutter covers you for that box.
